Two suspects arrested for Vosloorus fuel theft

Gauteng Hawks arrested two people for fuel theft in Vosloorus on Wednesday night. A Transnet depot in Germiston raised the alarm about suspicious tampering of the national pipeline.  Hawks spokesperson Lloyd Ramovha said police seized a truck and other equipment during an investigation.  The Hawks have arrested two men for alleged fuel theft from the national pipeline in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg. Russian oligarch yacht Nord was supposed to be in SA just about now. So where is it?

A sanctioned Russian oligarch's superyact, the Nord, was destined to arrive in Cape Town on Wednesday, but it is unclear where she went. The yacht stopped transponding data soon after leaving Hong Kong in late October.  The South African government has said that they have no problem with the yacht arriving since the country has no legal obligation to abide by sanctions imposed by the US and EU. Gaming Google: Oil firms use search ads to greenwash, study says

Fossil fuel companies are using Google ads to downplay their role in climate change, a study by a non-profit shows. Google says it prohibits ads that promote climate disinformation, but has not made public how many ads it has removed. The South African state wants to buy its own oil tanker – and a fleet of other ships

The department of transport wants to create a new state-owned enterprise, the South African Shipping Company. It would own at least one oil tanker, at least one chemical tanker, and a small fleet of other vessels. SASCO would be "the preferred national shipping carrier", and would operate its own warehouses and refuelling operations at sea. New record-high diesel price, petrol also pricier

The Hawks seized five luxury vehicles among other items during a search operation at the premises of the alleged fuel theft kingpin in Witbank, Mpumalanga.
